Ospitiamo oggi Andrius Pojavis, il rappresentante lituano all’Eurovision Song Contest 2013, che ha gentilmente risposto ad alcune nostre domande. Scopriamo insieme questo artista che a Malmö porterà anche un po’ d’Italia.

Ciao Andrius. Ci racconti qualcosa di te e del tuo percorso musicale?

Ciao Gianluca,

la mia storia musicale è iniziata quando ero un bambino. Mio padre mi portò in un coro e da lì tutto ha avuto inizio. Ai tempi della scuola ho suonato con vari gruppi rock. Con uno di questi gli “Hetero” ho vinto l’Eurorock (nel 2006) e siamo stati in giro per l’Europa per un mese, ma poi il gruppo si è sciolto. Solo in questi ultimi anni ho iniziato a propormi come cantautore, ed ho scritto il mio primo album “Astuoni” in Lituano e poi il mio primo singolo in Inglese “Something” (entrambi su iTunes store).

Come nasce “Something” e com’è nata l’idea di presentarla alla selezione lituana?

Something è nata già pensando all’Eurovision. Seguo questo contest da molto tempo e aspettavo di trovare una canzone che fosse in linea.

Che tipo di esibizione vedremo sul palco di Malmö?

Questo è ancora una sorpresa, ma qualcosa cambierà dalla presentazione in Lituania e probabilmente ci sarà con me un coro sul palco…il resto lo scoprirete in diretta. 🙂

Sappiamo che vivi fra Vilnius e Milano. Come mai hai deciso di venire in Italia?

Posso dire che non ho proprio deciso di venire a vivere in Italia, è stata più l’Italia che mi ha “invitato” :). Ora vivo qui con la mia famiglia, e adoro la vostra cucina. 🙂

Ti sei mai esibito in Italia? Pensi di farlo per promuovere “Something”?

No, ma mi piacerebbe. Non credo ci sarà tempo prima dell’Eurovision, ma certamente in futuro è uno dei miei progetti.

Ci sono artisti italiani che ami in modo particolare, con cui magari ti piacerebbe collaborare o con cui ha già lavorato?

Mi piace Francesco De Gregori, è davvero un grande artista. Purtroppo non ho mai lavorato con lui, né con altri artisti italiani, ma mi piacerebbe.

L’Italia sarà rappresentata da Marco Mengoni. Conosci la sua musica?

Ho ascoltato qualche sua canzone, mi piace il suo stile, è interessante.

Ti esibirai nella Semifinale in cui voterà l’Italia. Vuoi fare un appello ai nostri lettori?

So che in Italia L’Eurovision non è così seguito come in altri paesi, spero che quest’anno più persone lo seguiranno e mi aiuteranno a superare la semi-finale con Something (è stata registrata in Italia a Milano presso il MassiveArts studio).

La canterò con un po’ d’Italia dentro :).

Hello Andrius. Can you tell us something about yourself and your musical career?

Hello Gianluca,

my musical history began when I was a kid. My father took me to a choir and from there it all began. At school I played in various rock bands. With one of these the “Hetero” I won the Eurorock (in 2006) and we have been traveling around Europe for a month, but then the band split up. Only in recent years I have started to offer me as a songwriter, and I wrote my first album “Astuoni” in Lithuanian and then my first single in English “Something” (both on the iTunes store).

How was born “Something” and how the idea to aplly it for the Lithuanian selection?

Something is born already thinking about Eurovision. I follow this contest for a long time and I was expecting to find a song that was on the line.

What kind of performance we will see on stage in Malmö?

This is still a surprise, but something will change respect to the presentation in Lithuania and there will be a choir on stage with me probably… the rest you will find live. 🙂

We know that you live between Vilnius and Milan. Why did you decide to come to Italy?

I can say that I have not decided to come to live in Italy, It was Italy that “invited” me :). Now I live here with my family, and I love your kitchen. 🙂

Have you ever performed in Italy? Do you think to promote “Something” here?

No, I don’t, but I’d like. I do not think there will be time before Eurovision, but certainly in the future is one of my projects.

Are there an Italian artists you love in a particular way, that maybe you would like to collaborate or with whom you have already worked?

I like Francesco De Gregori, is really a great artist. Unfortunately I never worked with him, nor with other Italian artists, but I’d like.

Italy will be represented by Marco Mengoni. Do you know his music?

I heard a few of his songs, I like his style, it is interesting.

You will sing the semi-final in which Italy will vote. Do you want say something to our readers?

I know in Italy Eurovision is not known as in other countries, I hope that this year more people will follow and will help me to pass the semi-final with “Something (recorded in Italy in Milan at the MassiveArts study).

I will sing it with a little bit of Italy inside of me :).
